Geode Density Sets

Geode density sets are a great math and science lesson - all in one!  Each set below contains two geodes that are equal in size but one that is solid (no cavity) and one that is hollow (open cavity with crystals).  This is a great laboratory exercise that will allow your students to determine the density of each geode and will allow them to apply concepts of science, physics, and mathematics.  Students will need to have an understanding of mass, volume, density, weight, basic measurement and knowledge of standard and metric units, and mathematics to perform this lesson. 

What I Will Receive:  In addition to the two geodes, you will receive an information card that tells you about the geodes and you will also receive a Calculation Worksheet that guides you through the step-by-step process needed in order to determine the density of each geode to assist you with your lesson planning and laboratory preparations.
