A mix of quartz and barite that originated in a Keokuk geode makes up this specimen. The barites are a light yellow color and are up to 1.50 inches in length. Smaller but better crystallized barites are found on the other end. All of the barites have some contacting either to their base or sides given their location on the specimen. A good reference specimen of barite from the Keokuk, Iowa region that was found in a geode in Clark County, Missouri.
