This Mexican coconut geode has quartz as a primary lining but much of the quartz is coated with a thin layer of mordenite. As is typical for geodes with mordenite from this mine, a large platy calcite growth is also present in the geode but much of the calcite was cleaved off when the geode was opened. There is some agate in the skin but it is largely non-banded. The geode was opened with a soil pipe cutter into two halves and the edges are not polished. Price for the matching pair is $25.00 plus shipping.
