Opened Sonora Crystal Geodes

This page contains a selection of already opened Sonora, Mexico Crystal Geode pairs (unless otherwise noted).  These geodes are from a relatively new find made in 2017 in the mountains of Sonora province, Mexico, and contain mostly clear quartz linings.  Similar to the Trancas geodes in Chihuahua, Mexico, some of the Sonora Crystal geodes contain very fine, clear secondary quartz crystals which often occur in one part of the geode.  These geodes range in size from about an inch up to 6-7 inches across with the most common size being between 2-4 inches.  For whole Sonora Crystal Geodes you can open yourself, please visit our Whole Sonora Crystal Geodes page.
