#BG-210 - Sphalerite, Chalcopyrite, Pyrite, Quartz

Kruchev Dol Mine, Madan Deposit, southern Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria

12 x 7 x 4 cm (4.7 x 2.7 x 1.6 inches) - $75.00

A fine cabinet-sized combination specimen from Bulgaria.  The majority of the specimen is made up of lustrous sphalerite crystals, but the golden combination of pyrite and chalcopyrite on the "front" with mixed quartz crystals in scattered pockets on the specimen really add to the color and make for a nice combination specimen.  One of the quartz crystals on the "back" of the specimen was cleaved off - this is somewhat visible in the bottom photograph but really the specimen should be displayed to show the sulfides on the front.
